Well last weekend much to our delight we found a painted rock, when out and about. For those who are unaware – This is a very present trend, you paint a rock or two, hide it in a public place for someone to find – they then keep it or re-hide somewhere. So we decided we would pay it forward and paint our own to hide local. Take a look at the blog ‘Rock painting’.
Cost: Little – rocks are plentiful and normally can be found for free.
Level: Easy – the boys really enjoy this project.
Time: Varied depending on ability – took us about half an hour in all (painting/ cleaning up).
- You will need:
- Clean rocks.
- Paintbrushes if using paints.
- Acrylic paints or sharpie pens.
- Varnish (if you wish).
- Wash your rocks.
- Draw or paint your design on to your rocks. This can be a detailed pictures or just simple splodges, marks etc. Your choice!
- Let them dry.
- varnish if you wish.
- Keep it or hide it entirely up to you! Just remember if you are going to hide it, mark your rock with the name of the group that way you can be able to keep track of a few.
