Rice krispies treats.

This project can be creative easily by older children on their own or younger children with a little help. The boys pretty much made these alone with little supervising. It is a very affordable and easy cooking project. The finish treats are a big hit with the boys in my house!

How to make.

Level: Easy.

Cost: Little.

Enjoyment: This doesn’t take very long and is a quick fun cooking project.

Time: Approx 10 minutes prep time and 10 minutes fridge time.

Serves: Approx. 12.

You will need: 

  • 45g softened butter or margarine.
  • 300g marshmallows.
  • 180g Rice krispies (though you can experiement and use other cereals such as coco pops or corn flakes).
  • 180g of any miniature sweets of your choice (we normally use up any odd sweets we have in the cupboard).
  • Mixing Bowl.
  • Spoon.
  • cup cake tray with cases.

To do:

In the bowl – melt the butter/margarine and marshmallows together in the microwave for approx 2 minutes.

Stir until completely melted.

Add cereals of choice stir until well coated.

Divide out/place into cup cases,

decorate with sweets.

Place in fridge to set.

EAT!
