Fun with Ice.

Recently I saw this idea on a face book page and thought it looked pretty cool, so we decided to give it a go during the snow, doing our own version. It was a very  straight forward idea and easy to do, however our ice sculptures didn’t quite turn out as cool as the ones we saw on-line!  We filled some balloons and plastic disposable gloves with water and food colouring (red, yellow and green). We tried to fill the balloons using a jug and funnel, finding out this only created a mess and didn’t work, we attached the balloons straight to tape and added a few drops of food colouring instead.

Once the items were filled of water we placed and left over night in the snow overnight.

The next morning we removed the gloves and balloon (very easy to do). We found the green and yellow did not show up but the red looked very cool! The sculptures looked pretty fab. The boys really enjoyed studying the textures, patterns and ice.
